Some Common Question I have been asked about the road shoots I do.

Q: I can’t find my photo even though I rode past you and I really want to order acopy

A: Unfortuneatly Not all photos end up on the website for various reasons.  If you contact me with the date and approximate time you rode past and a description of your bike/helmet/clothing I’ll see if I have anything.  If the photo isn’t displayed on the site though there is a chance I either did not get a shot of you (other traffic in the way, shooting bikes coming from the other direction etc) or the photo is not of a quality I consider good enough to sell (blurred, composition, lighting etc) either way contact me and I can have a look through the images from the day or next time you see me stop and have a chat and I can make sure I get a shot of you going past.

Q:  You dont have permission to photograph me and I would like you to remove my image from your site.

A:  While technically I don’t actually need permission to take these photos I’m not interested in upsetting people so If you feel you can be easily identified in the picture (I go to great lengths to ensure no number plates are published in most shots) and there is a reason why you don’t want your photo published then let me know and I will remove the file.  If you’d like to know more about your rights as to being photographed and what is legal for photographers to do then please visit the NSW Photographers Rights Site for more information.

Q:  Are you available to come on organised rides and photograph us ?

A:  Absolutely ! I love doing this stuff just get in touch with me to arrange the date and times and we can negotiate the terms.  As it will incur expenses this would normally be in the form of agreeing to purchase x number of prints.

Q:  How about track days ?

A:  This is a tricky one - most track day organisers have official photographers who attend these events and as Race tracks aren’t public land I am restricted by their policies so although I am happy to attend I may be limited in the photos I am allowed to take by the organisers.

Q:  Do you ride?

A:  When not enjoying my photography I am out on my 2006 50th Anniversary R1 with various groups I hang out with.

Q:  Why dont your photos have a blurred background like some fo the shots you see in magazine ?

A:  This requires using a slower shutter speed and a process called panning to keep the rider in focus while the background is blurred for that feeling of speed - these pictures look GREAT but the trade off is that you get less good shots and while focusing on a single rider for that 1 good shot you miss the 3 others behind them so in order to get as many people as possible I use a high shutter speed and shoot from a fixed position. If you want a panned shot then stop and have a chat and I can position myself and get one for you - it will be slightly more expensive as it will stop me taking shots of other riders but not a whole lot more.

Q:  What other sort of Photography do you do?

A:  I am very focused on Motorsport and landscape photography and generally do not do anything else outside of this such as weddings and protrait or studio work and as a result have not geared myself up for studio or portrait work but that does not mean it is out of the realm of possibility so it doesnt hurt to ask and see if I can help.

Q:  Do you sell Prints ?

A: I currently have the site setup for direct downloads of full res files and although possible I do not have prints enabled on the site as the vast majority of what people want is to simply download a full resolution version of their picture to use or print as they want within the bounds of the Copyright Terms published here if there is a high demand for prints I will enable it but so far there has not been such a demand.

Q:  How do I know where you will be next ?

A: I have added a link to our FaceBook page to the site which i keep updated on where we will be next, you dont need to be a member of facebook as the latest updates will always show up on this website front page but if you are a FaceBook member then join the page and you will get all of the latest updates straight to your facebook wall.
